Carlos Alcaraz defeated Casper Roode at US open 2022

Carlos Alcaraz completed an impossible journey at the age of just 19 at Flushing Meadows on Sunday.

And he also defeated Casper Roode to win the 2022 US Open.

Alcaraz won his first career Grand Slam title with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 victory over Roode

Alcarz is now the second youngest player to win the men's US Open title at 19 years, 129 days, behind only Pete Sampras.

Further more, Alcaraz is the seventh youngest male to win a Grand Slam tournament with a great victory.

Alcaraz achieved the No. 1 position in all over the world and also in the history ever a youngest player achieved this rank.

Alcaraz's past best performance came recently this year when he entered the 2022 French Open quarterfinals, where he lost to Alexander Zverev.

Rudd, who had never won a Grand Slam title reached on Sunday,

split the starting two sets with Alcaraz.

It looked like Rudd was going to take a lead in the third set from two sets.

The Spanish star won seven out of eight points in the final tiebreaker,

in addition to winning 10 of the last 12 points overall.

Before Alcaraz's victory, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal had won 20 of the last 22 Grand Slam titles.
